Kleinigkeit is a German fashion label based in Hofheim-Diedenbergen that has been operating successfully in the B2C and B2B sectors since 2015. In addition to its own online store, the company supplies numerous business customers, including sports clubs. The special feature: Kleinigkeit prints many products in-house, from individual items to bulk orders. With around 1,200 storage locations, several hundred product variants and more than 100,000 article movements per quarter, the logistical complexity is high.

Use Case

Kleinigkeit has fundamentally transformed its logistics processes with the NIMMSTA Smart Watch and the Productivity Cloud. By switching from manual packing slips to digital process management with the Productivity Cloud and Smart Watches, the picking time per item was reduced by over 70% and the error rate was cut by 95%.
With more than 100,000 picked items per quarter and a highly dynamic product portfolio in B2B and B2C, Kleinigkeit focuses on maximum flexibility, ergonomics and transparency. The employees work more efficiently and are enthusiastic about the smart watches in their day-to-day work.

The challenge

The growing number of orders, the large number of variants and seasonal order peaks increasingly led to bottlenecks in Kleinigkeit's logistics. Orders were picked manually using packing slips - a process that involved long routes, manual checks and a high susceptibility to errors.
The orders were not optimized for storage space, but sorted by article number, which cost additional time. There was no real-time overview of processes or key figures at all. It quickly became clear that a digital, ergonomic and scalable solution was needed.

Use of Smart Watch and Productivity Cloud

Kleinigkeit has been using the NIMMSTA Smart Watch in combination with the Productivity Cloud since April 2024. The decision was made in favor of NIMMSTA in particular due to the ergonomic advantages in handling and the seamless integration into the existing merchandise management system (IndigoFashion).

The Smart Watch takes over complete process control in the picking process: employees select the desired process via the touch display, picking or goods clearance. During a picking process, the Smart Watch then shows the associated storage location, all relevant item details and the required quantity. The item is scanned, checked in real time and the next pick is automatically displayed. The picking process is now hands-free, with significantly reduced walking distances and high process reliability.

Thanks to NIMMSTA, things are now running like clockwork for us. Our employees have great conditions in their daily workflows thanks to the Smart Watch. The connection was child's play and completed very quickly. We are completely happy with the collaboration and look forward to taking processes to the next level together.

Flexible control with the Productivity Cloud

With the NIMMSTA Productivity Cloud, logistics manager Marco Konrad can quickly adapt processes and easily add new workflows - without any programming or intervention in the existing system. For example, if an additional step needs to be added to the picking process, such as a check or a quantity confirmation button, this can be configured within minutes and rolled out immediately.

Future processes such as stocktaking can also be added easily. As soon as the inventory process goes live, it is simply activated in the cloud and is available to employees directly on their smartwatch. The result: maximum flexibility, minimum effort and full control over all logistical processes.

Measurable success

The introduction of the NIMMSTA solution at Kleinigkeit has led to sensational results. The picking time was reduced from 115 to just 32 seconds per item - a time saving of over 70%. At the same time, the error rate fell by 95%, virtually eliminating classic packing errors.

In the first quarter of 2025, over 102,000 items were already picked with NIMMSTA - quickly, reliably and without errors. Employee satisfaction is also outstanding: operation was rated at 10 out of 10 points. It is particularly remarkable how strongly the smart watches are anchored in the team. The employees put on the smart watch first thing in the morning and wait for the orders to start, says Marco Konrad. Overall, efficiency in the warehouse has increased by 95% - clear proof of the high added value of the NIMMSTA Smart Watch in daily logistics practice.

Outlook

With the introduction of the NIMMSTA Smart Watch and the Productivity Cloud, Kleinigkeit has created a future-proof basis for digital, scalable and ergonomic logistics.

A larger rollout of the NIMMSTA solution is already planned: In future, stocktaking will also be carried out completely digitally via the smartwatches, including all counting processes directly on the device, without paper lists or manual post-processing.
